Third Devlog


Hello everybody!

We finalized the Art Bible, the Tech Doc and Game Design Document. Parts of our Art Bible are showcased below:


Last week, since us artists finished prototyping, we mostly focused on administration and some more concepting to really understand and nail the style we are trying to achieve. We want to induce a carefree and bubbly feeling at first but make the user experience grungier and creepier as the game goes on.  Next week we start on production so it was important for us to get everything ready so we can dive right into it. 

As for the Devs: 

while last week we added the slime jump for our first character, this week we added a fishing rod mechanic for our second character, so he can pull his friend up with him! we also made made the speed of the turning cake layers more randomised and the platforms from some layers can also affect the speed from the player now!!
We have added an actual win and lose conditions, the characters have a shared total of 5 lives, and every time the character falls too low you lose a live and the character gets respawn on the top, if you lose all 5 lives you get a game over screen.
As for the win condition,  you need to reach cake layer 20 to win the game (this is bound to change in the future as we will implement more features).
